In 2007, Ben founded AutoFerret.com, later named Conversica. Ben spent his early career in sales, sales training and management for companies in several industries. During that time, Ben developed a sales automation tool using broadcast fax to streamline the sales process. Ben has also worked as a lecturer and teaching assistant at the University of Washington and worked under a National Science Foundation grant to develop one of the first MOOCs (massively open online course): beneFIT. Ben graduated from the University of Washington with undergraduate degrees in informatics and forest resources and a master’s degree in marine affairs.
Alex TerryConversica Chief Executive Officer
Alex is an accomplished general manager and leader with over 20 years of management experience in high-growth SaaS companies. Previously, Alex was CEO at Become, Inc., an award-winning shopping analytics platform using artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide marketing services to thousands of merchants in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to that, Alex was EVP and General Manager of the Zoomerang.com online survey business where he introduced new lines of business, re-energized growth and managed the business through its acquisition by SurveyMonkey, Inc. Alex was also President and CEO of NeoEdge Networks and spent five years as an executive at AOL/Time Warner managing a portfolio of SaaS subscription businesses. A technology and business model innovator, Mr. Terry holds multiple patents for his work in Internet services, integrated communications, and interactive billing systems. Since 2000, Eric has led Kennet’s investment efforts in vertical software and enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business models. Eric is also a board member of KEMP Technologies, Recommind and Schoolwires. He managed and successfully exited systems management software company NetPro (acquired by Quest Software), compliance software company Consul Risk Management (acquired by IBM) and storage chip vendor Aarohi (acquired by Emulex). Before joining Kennet, Eric was a principal in Broadview’s New York office where he worked on about 50 M&A transactions involving communications equipment, systems management and enterprise software companies. Prior to joining Broadview in 1994, Eric worked as a product-marketing engineer at Intel Corporation. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Previously, he was a principal at Columbia Capital focusing on growth equity and venture investments in communications, media and technology. Prior to Columbia Capital, Gopi held various operating and research roles for Cisco Systems, Avici Systems and Sprint Corporation. Gopi received a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, and also holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in electrical engineering.
