Chief Scientist

About the position

Conversica is seeking a highly accomplished, world-renowned Chief Scientist to help us evolve our artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing systems and technologies.

Duties/Responsibilities

As Conversica’s Chief Scientist, you will work closely with C-level stakeholders to define the business problems that we are trying to solve and contribute to the innovative products we are building. You will be responsible for developing methodologies and algorithms to support these efforts, using both traditional statistical analysis as well as modern deep learning, artificial intelligence and natural language processing techniques. Your scope will reach from text classification problems over big data analytics to A/B testing and experiment design. You will manage one or more Data Scientists and collaborate closely with the development teams involved in text classification, big data and A/B testing.

Requirements

  • Experience in leading cutting-edge research in statistics, data analytics, machine learning, or natural language processing
  • Experience in developing innovative approaches and new algorithms to solve difficult business problems
  • Experience in successfully transitioning research prototypes into production
  • Expertise in predictive modeling using both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Experience in modern deep learning approaches and natural language processing
  • Advanced proficiency with at least one statistical computing language for data analysis, such as R or Python
  • Experience distilling and presenting complex concepts to a business audience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
  • Experience working in an agile methodology
  • Well published and known within the scientific community

EDUCATION

PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research or Computer Science.
