Conversica Reveals Dreamforce AI Attitudes

Overwhelming Majority Want Marc Benioff to Run for President of the United States

Foster City, CASeptember 28, 2018Conversica, the leader in conversational AI for business, revealed the key take-aways on artificial intelligence from Salesforce’s Dreamforce conference. The admittedly unscientific intercept survey among the thousands of Dreamforce attendees discovered that a significant percentage, 89 percent, felt that artificial intelligence would not take their job. A majority of attendees (55 percent) are optimistic about the future of artificial intelligence, followed by 51 percent thinking AI will help improve the quality of customer service. Over a third (39 percent) believe AI will make workers more productive and creative at work. The same percentage of respondents believe AI will help improve the world.

When asked how AI would make their jobs better, Dreamforce attendees responded accordingly:

  • Automating routine tasks – 55%
  • Managing busy work – 44%
  • Handling customer inquiries -40%
  • Closing more sales – 34%
  • Finding more prospects – 32%
  • Pursuing more leads – 23%

The number one challenge to applying AI at work came down to availability: either the tools weren’t available or the company had yet to provide them. That was followed by respondents not having enough education about the emerging technology. One in ten admitted they didn’t know how AI would apply to their job.

Additionally, attendees were asked if Marc Benioff should run for president. An overwhelming majority, 72 percent, think the head of Salesforce should run. The number one reason: attendees believe Benioff is a visionary. That was followed by the belief that Benioff balances business, community and people. One in five believe Benioff should run for the country’s highest office due to how he built Salesforce. Other reasons cited included Benioff’s ability to get the best out of people.
